FROM EXISTING CONDITIONS TO FINISHED FLOOR

Four checks make all the difference.

  1. 01

Understand how it will be used

Room, load, pets, moisture and the desired effect determine the right material.

  2. 02

    Measure the substrate

Flatness, residual moisture, load-bearing capacity and build-up height are checked before materials are ordered.

  3. 03

    Review samples & plan

Format, colour, grading, laying direction, skirting and transitions are specified as one complete system.

  4. 04

    Install & hand over

The build-up is documented, installed precisely and handed over with care instructions.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What you should know before choosing materials and installation.

How much does new flooring cost per square metre?+

The guide figures on this page indicate the cost of the respective material and the installation described. Strip-out, substrate levelling, skirting boards and special junctions are itemised separately after assessment of the existing floor.

What is the difference between wide-plank flooring and solid parquet?+

Wide planks are available as engineered or solid-wood products. Engineered planks are dimensionally stable and often well suited to underfloor heating. Solid wood offers a generous wear layer, but reacts more strongly to indoor climate and requires a particularly well-planned build-up.

Can parquet be installed over underfloor heating?+

Yes, provided the product, timber species, thickness, adhesive and heating system are compatible. Before installation, we check residual moisture, the heating-up protocol and thermal resistance.

Which flooring is suitable for kitchens or bathrooms?+

Porcelain stoneware, suitable vinyl systems and professionally installed seamless finishes are particularly resistant to moisture. Wood can work in suitable areas, but requires careful detailing and maintenance.

Does the old floor always need to be removed?+

Not always. Build-up height, flatness, load-bearing capacity, residual moisture and existing damage are decisive. We establish during the on-site assessment whether the existing floor can remain.

How long does installation take?+

Depending on the substrate and system, a single room can be completed in a few days. Levelling compounds, adhesives, elaborate patterns and surface treatments require additional drying and working time.

How can we obtain a suitable quotation?+

Describe your project in the contact form. We discuss your wishes and the existing building in person, then prepare a written quotation once the scope has been assessed.

What laying patterns are available for tiles and parquet?+

For ceramic tiles, options include straight rows and half- or third-offset patterns. Parquet options include planks, ship-deck flooring, English bond, herringbone and chevron. Technical suitability depends on the selected product and substrate; our detailed service pages explain the differences.
